We can’t thank you enough, parents, for taking time out of your busy schedules to come in and share your knowledge and love of your countries with us. There were Power Point presentations, videos, books, songs, tattoos, writing in different languages, Vegemite, Alfajores, Falooda and chocolate muffins!
The Dolphins were so excited to have you come in and share with their classmates and we all learned so much! For the next couple of weeks you can see pictures of the presentations.
Thanks again!
We have just finished our unit on 2 and 3 dimensional shapes. The Dolphins learned so much about the attributes of shapes and can tell you all about the sides, faces, corners, edges, etc. Ask them! Before we started the unit we went on a shape hunt around the campus. Who knew there were so many?!
Rectangles!
Circles!
Triangles!
Squares!
Hey, Dolphins, quick! Pick one of the above two-dimensional shapes and go to your room and tally how many you find. Leave your findings in the comments!
The outfits and the flag ceremony and the food!!! What a great day!

We were so lucky to have the Filipino author/illustrator Robert Magnuson come visit Kindergarten. We have been reading his books and it was so exciting to have him come in and show us some more of artwork and to tell us how he became a writer. After his presentation we drew a setting and then used brand new characters he drew for us as characters in the setting. Some of us added text to make our characters come to life! Check out our artwork. Pretty cool, huh?

In your child’s black folder on Friday you will find a Stick Man. Please fill it out. Please watch the video below to get assistance on how to fill it out.
Thanks!
Our goal of Student-Led Conferences was to make them meaningful for both you and your child. We hoped it would give you an understanding of what we do in Kindergarten. The benefits we hoped to see were sent to you before hand. They were:
For Students
For Parents
What did you think about the conferences? Were they beneficial? Would you change anything? Thanks for your input!

We are learning about how the property of something can change when you add something to it like liquid or heat. A fun way to do this is through cooking! Dani’s parents came in to do a fruit salad with us and Emilio’s mom came in to help the class make edible play doh. Both projects were a lot of fun. We are looking forward to more parents volunteering to come in and make something to eat–particularly something you eat in your own countries. Please let us know if you can come. We would love to have you!
